MARTA
ROUTE 188

Project Location Map

Anticipated Completion

April 2026

Project Background

The rapid growth of warehousing and distribution centers in the City of Fairburn has resulted in an influx of workers who ride transit to work. Before the CID requested a new bus route into Fairburn, transit access to worksites in the area was limited.

Project Description

In April 2020, MARTA began running a bus route for Oakley Industrial Boulevard. The 188 route connects essential staff who work along Oakley Industrial Boulevard with MARTA’s College Park station, the SR 74 Park and Ride, and several stops along the Boulevard.

Starting in April 2026, this route will evolve into a new MARTA On-Demand Service. Find more info on this modern transit solution on the MARTA NextGen Bus Network website and below.
